Seven Little Kid Friendly Theme Parks

Seven Little Kid Friendly Theme Parks

This one obviously makes the list because its where dreams come true! I’ll admit this year was the first time I’ve ever been to Magic Kingdom but it truly is a magical place and fun for everyone in the family. There is so much to do and so much to see! Your children’s favorite movies and shows are brought to life directly in front of their eyes and they get to be up close and personal.

I absolutely loved Animal Kingdom when we visited this spring and I would actually recommend it over Magic Kingdom if your looking for something a little bit more laid back. Make sure you check out both the Nemo themed show and the Lion King which were both incredible! One of my favorite parts of Animal Kingdom is that there are times through out the day where you can meet some of your favorite Disney Characters like Mickey and Minnie.
Rides, animals and some other awesome attractions! Of course one of our favorite parts of Sea World was seeing the whales perform and getting to see all the other animals. Hunter really enjoyed cooling off in the kids splash area and getting to see the bears.
if you have a lego lover in your family then Legoland is might be the perfect theme park destination for your family. With two locations in the US; Winter Have, FL and Carlsbad, CA Legoland is jam packed with Lego statues and activities. Make sure to check out Miniland USA! They also have a lot of great rides that are geared towards smaller children. However if you do decide to visit Legoland I would recommend waiting till you can get a discount pass as their prices are a bit steep. Also keep in mind that a lot of their rides aren’t for children under 36 inches.
Santa’s Village isn’t your typical theme park but its definitely geared towards the younger crowd. Toddlers and holiday lovers will definitely enjoy this Christmas themed theme park. You can ride a reindeer on the carousel, sit on Santa’s lap, Ride Santa’s Express train, feed a real life reindeer and more.
Sesame Place located in Langhorne, PA is the perfect place to visit with your little Sesame Street fan. Sesame Place has tons of water rides like Big Bird’s Rambling River and Sesame Streak. There is also a ton of dry rides like Big Bird’s Balloon Race and Elmo’s World. The park also has a ton of shows, parades and opportunity’s to meet your kids favorite Sesame Street character!

24 Must See Places In The US

So I’m always trying to think of all the places that I want to visit in the United States and the ones that I already have. The US is full of beautiful and historic filled places so the next time you’re planning a vacation why not think about visiting one of the ones below. I know that there are a ton of places that I left off the list but I just wanted to let everyone know that I plan on doing a few more must see lists by theme, city and states!

Places To Visit In Maine

The Breakwater – Rockland
Okay I probably shouldn’t openly admit this but I never once walked the Breakwater in the 20 years that I lived in Maine. I passed it on the ferry out of Rockland thousands of times but never found the time to walk it. I should probably add it to my bucketlist.

You can also stop by one of the islands many beautiful farms including the Turner Farm where you can find local organic goods including cheese. Consider spending the night in a lean-tos or cabin make sure you pack your camera, hiking boots and plenty of bug spray. If your lucky you might get the chance to see some local wild life!

Florida Aquarium Review

This past spring while my stepfather was having radiation in Tampa my son and I were lucky enough to sneak in a visit to the Florida Aquarium while visiting him. This was my sons first trip to an aquarium and having never been to the Florida Aquarium i wasn’t really sure what to expect! I spent awhile looking over their website and making a list of the things that i knew he would love to see and things he would love to do!

We started by purchasing our tickets which from the nice guy behind the ticket window. An adult ticket cost $21.95 and a child cost $16.95! For some reason they didn’t charge me for my son…i think they may have been taking pity on him because of the large cast he was sporting on his foot or maybe the guy behind the window didn’t know what he was doing.

With tickets in hand the first thing that my son wanted to do was to see the stingrays! The stingrays are located on the first floor of the aquarium and are just one of the many wonderful exhibits! We moved along and made our way up to the second floor where we got to see turtles, snakes, birds, sharks, fish and so much more.

One of our favorite parts of our trip aside from all of the amazing sea life was all of the educational exhibits that are scattered throughout the aquarium. The place is a wealth of education full of interactive exhibits for any little one who is eager to learn.

After we had made our way through the aquarium not once but twice we made our way outside and had lunch under a covered patio. The aquarium has its own restaurant but we packed our own. Then my son played in the outdoor water play area for a few hours….he loved this just as much as he did the aquarium.

Overall we really enjoyed our day trip and look forward to visiting again sometime in the future! It was totally worth the money that we spent to visit!

Vero Beach Hotel and Spa Review

This past week my father and stepmother paid us a visit from Maine and we decided to take a trip to the Ocean and spend the day at the beach. We pulled out the laptop and began searching for a place to stay in nearby Vero Beach. When we came across the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa we knew that we had to stay there!

When we arrived at the Hotel right of the bat I was impressed with the high quality of the staff. They were all extremely friendly and professional! I guess it didn’t hurt that our room was upgraded from a deluxe room with two queen beds to a studio suite with two queen beds!
The room was beautiful! All the counter tops were granite, there was a glassed in rain shower in the bathroom and a huge sunken tub with a door that opened into the bedroom. Our room also had a sunken in living room with a flat screen TV, fridge, microwave and mini bar. Our balcony overlooked the pool and also gave us a wonderful view of the ocean! We sat outside and took in an amazing sunset while deciding what to do for dinner.

The Vero Beach Hotel and Spa offers anything between a Deluxe Room featuring one king bed to a three bedroom grand suite with ocean front views. The rooms are beautiful with cheery warm colors and luxury furnishings. They offer services such as high speed wireless, newspaper delivery, evening wine in the lobby and in room dining.

There is also two restaurants on the property the Cobalt Restaurant and Heaton’s Reef Bar and Grill. Both restaurants feature amazing ocean front views. There is a full on site fitness center and a beautiful pool with cabanas. They offer valet parking, laundry services and even an overnight shoe shine service! You also have the opportunity to book on site spa services.

(this was the view from our room)

The Vero Beach Hotel and Spa is also extremely kid friendly. They offer play yards and cribs to those that need them. They have on site child care services and in room child safety kits.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. As i said before the staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was beautiful!

Lowry Park Zoo Review

Ever since I had my son its been really important to me that he has good experiences and gets to see things and go places that are not only fun but educational. Unfortunately my desire to do these things and my checkbook don’t always see eye to eye. However I’ve found that a lot of places offer special discount days and I’ve learned to take advantage of these days.

(This guy was cute but he had a bit of an attitude)

This spring I learned that the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa was offering a $5 day. Normally it is $23.95 for adults and $18.95 for kids ages 3-11. I jumped at the chance to take my son for only $10 for the two of us! He is a true animal lover and loves learning about new ones and i knew he would be just as excited as i was.

The drive there was easy and a parking space was easy to find as well. I feared that the ticket lines to enter would be long like they have been at other places we have visited in the past but they had plenty of ticket booths open and we were through the gates within minutes of arriving.

I’m not sure where to even start with the park aside to say that the place is incredible! There is over eight themed area like Safari Africa and Lturi Forrest which has animals like Elephants, Cheetahs and Giraffes. The Florida boardwalk that features animals like the Florida Panther, Red Fox and the Southern Stingray and many many more animals to see. There is also an aquarium type area!

There are tons of interactive areas like the Camel Safari where your children can actually ride on the back of a Camel! The Lorikeet landing where you enter a special bird habitat and have the option to feed them(just watch out for poop)! There is also Stingray Bay where you can feed and pet the Stingrays! My son was thrilled with all of the different hands on exhibits and enjoyed each and everyone of them.

Aside from the animals there is also an area that features ride attractions. They are a lot of fun but it is an extra $6 to enjoy them and with all the animals there is to see there almost isn’t enough time in the day to ride them! Another large plus that the park features is a small water play area where your kids can cool off on a hot summer day! We didn’t do this as the day was a bit overcast and rainy as it was.

All and all did i think it was worth the $10 it cost for the two of us to get in? Yes, it was more then worth it! Would i pay the regular cost price if i was unable to go on a discount day? Yes, it is well worth it!

The only negative things was that if you want to bring your own lunch with you that you have to leave the park and eat in a designated picnic area. We chose to eat in the park but ended up waiting in line for nearly an hour! Aside from that it was a wonderful experience and my son was overjoyed to be there!
